A book published in 1981 predicted the occurrence of Coronavirus in 2020

In a book titled ‘The Eyes of Darkness‘ authored by Dean Koontz, an American novelist, he predicted that  “In around 2020, a Pneumonia like illness throughout the globe, attacking the lungs and the bronchial tubes and resisting all known treatments”.

Since the outbreak of this deadly viral infection, there have been several reports claiming where and this disease was predicted decades ago.

Coronavirus a.k.a COVID-19 was first reported in Wuhan province in the People’s Republic of China.  The current state of the COVID-19 as reported by worldometers.info reveals that there are currently 102,559 reported cases, 3,501 recorded deaths, and 57,692 patients recovered globally. China currently has the highest reported cases of 80,651, of which 55,502 have been recovered, with 3,070 reported deaths.

China, South Korea, Iran, and Italy are the top four(4) countries with the most reported cases and recorded deaths. Italy, the only European country among the top four infected nations as of today according to worldometer.info, has 4,636 reported cases and 197 recorded deaths.

Ghana has not yet recorded any COVID-19 case, although there have been some suspected cases reported which have all proven to be negative after the victims were subjected to laboratory scrutiny. The latest reported cases in Africa are from Togo and Cameroon.
