Akufo-Addo’s promise of constant flow of water a complete failure – John Mahama laments

John Mahama, former President of Ghana says although the government has announced that it will absorb water bills for three months, the taps, on the contrary, remain shut as there is no water flowing through them as was expected.

President Akufo-Addo in his fifth update on measures put in place to fight COVID-19 said: “Ghana Water Company Limited and the Electricity Company Limited of Ghana has been directed to provide a constant supply of water and power during this period. In addition, there will be no disconnection of power.”

“Furthermore the government will absorb water bills of Ghanaians for the next three months ie April, May, June.”

But speaking at a short event to donate some food items for some 20,000 households across the country, the former President mentioned that although a promise of constant flow of water has been made, the promise seems not to have been fulfilled.
