Daddy Lumba Drags His ‘Wanna be’ (Lumba Jnr) To Court For Impersonation

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he impersonator, Kwame Anokye, also known in music circles as Daddy Lumba Jnr., is said to parade himself as son of Daddy Lumba to ‘dupe’ others.

According to a report by Entertainmentgh.com, Daddy Lumba claims that Anokye has a history of impersonating him since his appearance on a TV Africa-produced reality show, ‘Just Like You’ far back in 2010.

‘Just Like You’ was a reality TV show which gave artistes the platform to mimic their favourite celebrities. DL Junior, on that show imitated Daddy Lumba.

And since then, Ankoye, who really resembles Daddy Lumba has been parading himself as Lumba’s associate.

According to the Highlife legend, the name Daddy Lumba is exclusively associated to him within the music industry and that no one goes by that name.

Therefore Kwame Anokye’s imitation and misrepresentation has affected his (Lumba’s) reputation, business and goodwill and the brand as a whole.

Meanwhile, DL Junior in an interview with Citi FM confirmed that he has received the writ summon from Daddy Lumba.

He however declined to further comment on the case because his lawyers are currently handling the case.

He said his lawyer was handling the issue and would only pass comment after they have been to court.

Some few months ago, DL Junior, told Delay in an interview of the Delay Show which was monitored by YEN.com.gh that it was by fate that he looks and sings like Daddy Lumba.

While on the interview, he said “Daddy Lumba’s spirit is in me”. He further expressed his excitement over the fact that he has some similarities with Lumba himself therefore, he sees him as a father.
