The Year of Return and Beyond the Return

On August 2019, Ghana in an attempt to bring home all people of African descent from different parts of the world started an initiative dubbed the Year of Return to commemorate the 400 years since enslaved Africans arrived in the United States.

This brought thousands of black people from different parts of the world to Ghana to embark on a spiritual and birth-right journey and to have experience of the country’s rich culture and tourism. This initiative was followed up with Beyond the Return initiative which is a sustainable initiative to ensure that People of the Black Origin from all walks of life visit Ghana at any time they so desire and also to create a fund to sustain the initiative.
