It’s a trap: don’t enforce total lockdown is a tool to make gov’t unpopular – Koku Anyidoho alerts gov’t

Former Director of Communications at the Presidency under the late President Atta-Mills administration, Koku Anyidoho, has asserted that the motive behind those clamoring for a total lockdown due to the COVID-19 is to make the Akufo-Addo led government unpopular.

He said it is an unscientific call and a propaganda tool prior to this year’s General Elections to make the ruling party lose.

According to him, those people are calling for a total lockdown because most Ghanaians will suffer to an extent and perhaps die so the government looks bad.

” . . you know in your hearts that total lockdown will punish people but you want people to be punished so that the government will look bad, are you serving God?” he rhetorically asked.

Explaining his assertion on Okay FM’s ‘Ade Akye Abia’ Morning Show, the former NDC Deputy Chief Scribe said that analytically, if the campaigners of the total lockdown will not wait for the experts to come out with the scientific data before calling for it, it may inure to their benefit politically as the people will suffer and make the government look bad.

He mentioned that a total lockdown might make people die out of strange diseases; adding that it will be a means to invite all the six killer diseases back as the country does not have the system in place to manage them.
