NDC now in coma; only Asiedu Nketia and Sammy Gyamfi currently fighting for Mahama – Atubiga cries

Member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Stephen Atubiga has lamented the laid back posturing of several leading figures in the party months to the general elections, a situation he believes may affect the chances of the party in December 2020.

NDC now in coma; everything seems frozen

According to Mr. Atubiga, the enthusiasm expected of a party ready for a battle in such a crucial election is lacking as many who are to put their hands to the wheel and get the votes for the party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, appear to have abandoned their roles. Atubiga lists the NDC’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, and the National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, as the only true ‘soldiers’ doing everything they can to secure victory for John Mahama come December 2020.

“Look at how our General Secretary and his deputy are actively struggling with the party. Defending and attacking alone. Sometimes I see him as doing our Veeps job in advance. Our national organizers need more help on the ground. What is going on? How are we engaging all the former presidential aspirants? to be very active like when they were going around campaigning wanting to Lead the NDC,” Atubiga lamented.

He continued;

“We have a solid communication team, who’re always setting the triggers for us, but no party actions to back it up on the ground.”

According to Atubiga, the NDC appears to be in a ‘frozen’ state with little to no work being done on the ground despite the fact that elections are barely six months away.

“Everything looks frozen to me. We have a solid communication team, who always setting the triggers for us, but no party actions to back it up on the ground.”

Given this, he called for a revival in the party’s hierarchy in order to brighten the chances of the comeback of John Dramani Mahama ahead of the crucial 2020 Presidential Elections.
