Parliament Approves Akufo-Addo’s Ministerial Nominees Amid Minority Opposition

Accra, Ghana – Parliament has officially approved President Akufo-Addo’s ministerial nominees despite strong opposition from the Minority. Minority Leader Cassiel Ato Forson voiced their concerns, stating, “Mr. Speaker, the Minority does not support the nominations of these ministers due to the ongoing issues the country faces, including the economic crisis, food insecurity, ‘dumsor’ (power outages), and reckless borrowing.”

On Wednesday, 14 February, President Akufo-Addo reshuffled his cabinet, appointing new ministers to key positions. Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye was named the Minister of Health, Lydia Seyram Alhassan the Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, and Dakoa Newman as the Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection.
