On March 11, 2023, the Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service (GHS) received the first shipment of Measles vaccines, BCG vaccines, and Oral Polio Vaccines.

The Ministry of Information announced on Facebook that the distribution of the vaccines to various regions and healthcare facilities is currently underway. The Ministry also confirmed that more vaccines will arrive in Ghana from multiple sources in the coming weeks.

During his address to Parliament on March 9, Health Minister Kwaku Agyemang-Manu reaffirmed his commitment to procure vaccines for children in the next few weeks and added that all necessary arrangements have been made for their prompt arrival.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo also expressed his concern over the shortage of childhood vaccines in the country on March 8.
