“We are sending a warning to NPP; We shall meet you boot for boot” – John Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama has said that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has revolutionary groups and when it comes to revolution, NDC is the party which has the propensity to unleash more than any other party in the country.

He said this in an audio after violence marred the by-election in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency.

He expressed sadness over the violent incident which rocked the election yesterday.

Mr. Mahama visited party members who had sustained injuries and were responding to treatment at the hospital.

He said that he had to rush from the Volta Region where he was campaigning to delegates in the lead to the party’s presidential primaries slated on the 23rd of February 2019.

He said that the party had appealed to its members to remain calm but added that, come 2020, the NDC is going to meet the NPP boot for boot.

He added that, when it comes to unleashing violence and revolution, no political party in the country can do more than they do.

“The NDC has revolutionary roots and that when it comes to unleashing violence, nobody can beat us in unleashing violence.” Former President Mahama said.

He added that each and everyone has the right to protect the constitution but in the event of someone trying to subvert it, they would defend themselves.

He said that the party has tasked a body to bring a report over what transpired and after being briefed, the party will decide.
