15 year old boy imprisoned for stealing GHC20 from a kenkey seller

15 year old boy imprisoned for stealing GHC20 from a kenkey seller; Social media users have gone haywire after a boy was imprisoned for 2 years at the Kumasi Central Prison for allegedly stealing Twenty Ghana Cedis from a kenkey seller.

According to Adom, the boy in question, it was his nephew who stole the money but he couldn’t defend himself which is why  he has been sentenced to two years imprisonment  with hardened criminals at the Kumasi Central Prison.

He also said that he was 15 years old but the police man that arrested him lied to the court that the boy was 18 years and could serve a jail sentence and thus the verdict was passed. He claims his parents are dead and so had no one to confirm his real age to the court which was bad luck on his side.
