At least six persons have been confirmed dead while several others are in critical condition after a truck carrying NDC supporters got involved in an accident at Ejura in the Ashanti Region.
The accident occurred at Frante near the Ejura/Sekyedumase constituency of the Ashanti Region Saturday –24 hours after a similar incident occurred in the New Edubiase constituency.
The truck was conveying supporters of the main opposition party to the Ejura/Sekyedumase Constituency where flag bearer John Mahama is expected to address a mammoth rally there.
Asaase news’ Jonathan Ofori says emergency services have since been deployed to the scene as they race with time to rescue the perishing.
He said, there are fears the death toll may rise.
Meanwhile, John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is expected to visit survivors at the Ejura Hospital.
