A Facebook Fact-Checking organization Dubawa has declared as fake and doctored a supposed video of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo allegedly receiving $40, 000
A video has gone viral of the President then Candidate Akufo-Addo in 2016 receiving donations of $40,000 from a philanthropist.
To the NDC, the money taken by the President is a bribe to keep one Alhaji Suleman who was appointed as the Ghana Highways Authority Director by John Dramani Mahama in office.
Whiles the governing NPP has also described the video as an old video and has nothing to do with the President taking a bribe.
But after the video was shared on the Facebook page of the NDC’s Communications Director, Independent Fact-Checking organization, Dubawa that works with Facebook to identify fake news and clamp down on it declared the video as fake.
According to the fact-checking organization, the video has no basis of fact and is therefore misleading the public hence was blocked from public viewing.
However, the NDC insist that the videos are authentic and that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo took bribes from the wife of Alhaji Suleman so the husband will not be sacked even by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo when he wins the election in 2016.
