Comedian turned politicians, Kwame Dzokoto was recently in the news for asking the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) to consider lifting the ban placed on celebrities from endorsing alcoholic beverages.
Speaking to Accra-based Power FM, the former host of ‘Edziban’ on TV3 was asked to share his unforgettable experience since joining politics.
“I became poor as soon as I joined politics because i have lost a lot of deals as a result of my political background.
“I think the youth and celebrities who want to venture into politics should be very careful and get more cash before getting into it” he added.
He stressed that he left the media space because he was broke to the extent that he lacked the financial backing to help him get his program on air.
The FDA, in 2015, banned all celebrities including Kwame Dzokoto from advertising for alcoholic beverages as a way to protect children from abusing alcohol.
