Mahama’s arrangement to sell off GIHOC was far advanced when I took office – Kofi Jumah reveals
- Maxwell Kofi Jumah is the current Managing Director of GIHOC
- Full meaning of GIHOC is Ghana Industrial Holding Corporation
- NDC had made advanced negotiations to sell off GIHOC when NPP came to power in 2017
Maxwell Kofi Jumah a.k.a Kofi Ghana, the current Managing Director for Ghana Industrial Holding Corporation (GIHOC) has hailed his team for a job well done after he took over the state company as a Managing Director.
According to Mr. Kofi Jumah, when the NPP came to power in 2017, the company had two months to be dead because negotiations were far advanced for the sale of GIHOC to a private individual.
However, he took over and stopped the sale of the company that had several of its sister companies dying and brought it to life.
Maxwell Kofi Jumah who made this known while addressing staff of the company said “the company has had several of its sister companies phasing out. The only company under GIHOC which was still active when we took over in 2017 was the Distillery and even with that, it had a lifespan of two months. Plans were far advanced to sell it to a private individual but when I came here, I met the individual and told him we are not selling again.
You people have worked so hard that GIHOC that had only a few staff now has been able to revive some of its dead sister companies and increased the staff strength of the company. When we came GIHOC did not have offices across the country but today apart from Accra, GIHOC also has offices in Kumasi, Koforidua, Ho, Sunyani, Techiman, Sefwi Wiaso, and Tarkwa”.
He disclosed that GIHOC currently has two International Offices where their products are been supplied to in Liberia and Cote D’Ivoire; an indication of the good work the organization has done.
On what has been the trade secret in reviving a dead entity, the Managing Director indicated that respect for each other, hard work and perseverance.
