[dropcap]E[/dropcap]ditor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has said he’ll soon have the full 455 page Dr. Kwesi Botchwey report that has been heavily guarded by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to the veteran journalist, he’s had portions of the report photographed and scanned for him by an NDC insider.
The largest opposition party after its crushing defeat in the 2016 general elections commissioned a 13- member fact finding committee chaired by former Finance Minister, Dr. Kwesi Botchwey to diagnose what led to the NDC’s.
Five months after the committee presented its report to National Executives, the party has kept the report under lock and key saying it’s not meant for public consumption.
The report is said to make damning revelations on how campaign funds never got to their intended destinations, divisions in the party and how the party’s election collation centre broke down during the polls.
Some media houses have reportedly intercepted a copy an executive summary of the classified report and have been serializing contents of the report.
But NDC executives have rubbished every bit of the supposed report that has been published insisting the media’s copy of the report is fake.
However speaking on Joy FM’s News File show Saturday, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako challenged the NDC to provide the genuine report if the party insists what the media has is fake.
“This whole thing is a reflection of the power play in the NDC particularly when they’ve opened the flood gates for elections. As I told you my copies were photographed, scanned and transmitted to me and more is coming. Indeed very soon, the whole report that they’re hiding in a rat hole will emerge, the whole four hundred and something will emerge and we’ll come and put it here so that they tell you it’s fake. The report will come to us.”
“Ordinarily, it shouldn’t be a big matter if they want to keep the report to themselves but when you go out and tell a journalist that what you’re publishing is fake, then the challenge is yours to produce the genuine report.”
