New Ya-Naa receives customized Jaguar Sedan Car from Nana Addo

The new overlord of Dagbon, Ya-Naa Abukari Mahama II has received a customized Jaguar saloon car from President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

It is gathered that the brand new vehicle was towed to Yendi to be donated to the chief who has officially been outdoored to begin his duties in accordance with customs and tradition of the area.

Ya-Naa Abukari Mahama II coronation which took place at the forecourt of the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi makes him the 42nd Ya-Naa with a promise to champion development on behalf of residents of Dagbon.

In a speech read for him, he rallied support from both factions to deliver on his mandate and promise to be impartial in the discharge of his duties as required.

On Friday, January 18, 2019, the kingmakers who consulted the Dagbon oracles successfully completed he traditional processes and settled on Yo-Naa Abubakari Mahama as the new Ya-Naa.

Yo-Naa was among four persons including Nyab Tampion-Lana, Nyab Kampakuya-Naa and Nyab Boling-Lana whose names came up as possible successors of the late Ya-Naa whose funerals have all be performed.

The consulting elders include Gushei Naa and Kuganaa who nominated the Chief of Savelugu to succeed the late Ya Naa Yakubu Andani II who died in 2002.
