The lawmaker was among thousands of residents who joined in the chiefs and people of Gomoa Fetteh to celebrate its Ahobaakese festival climaxed with the infamous Atopa dance known in local parlance as Akosualontoba.

Hon Kojo Asemanyi is seen in the less than one-minute video showcasing his expertise in the dance captured by the prying lenses of journalists.

It is not when the atopa dance was inculcated into Ahobaakese festival but residents including the Queen Mother of the town Nana Abena Owusu said it is an age-old dance.

She explained that the Atopa dance was a way the wives in the community danced to meet their husbands who had returned from war victories in the olden days.

The sexually suggestive dance has however been given varying interpretations with sections calling for its ban arguing on moral grounds.
