Akufo-Addo, Anas named among top 50 African disruptors for 2020

Top 50 African disruptors: President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and ace Investigative Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas have been named among the top 50 Africans, who are ‘shaking up the status quo’ on the continent.

President Akufo-Addo is named alongside Alassane Ouattara of Ivory Coast in a joint position for their role in cocoa and a single currency for West Africa.

Another Ghanaian who did the country proud is Nelson Boateng of ‘plastic bricks’. He placed 44th.

The exclusive ranking of Africa’s Top 50 disruptors is based on three factors: innovation, disruption and heft. These criteria take into account how new the idea is, how big the change is and how many people are impacted.

Others on the ‘To 50 Disruptors’ include: 2019 Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Abiy Ahmed, President of Ethiopia; Aliko Dangote a businessman and a reformist, the João Lourenço of Angola; Koos Bekker, a Tech king based in South Africa; Anas Aremeyaw Anas, an investigative journalist bent on naming, shaming and jailing corrupt officials of government, among others.
