Cameroun launches the world’s first malaria vaccine rollout
Cameroon, February 3, 2024 – The government of Cameroon has officially launched the world’s first malaria vaccine rollout, a historic development that promises to revolutionize the approach to combating malaria on a global scale. The vaccine, known as RTS,S/AS01, has undergone rigorous testing and is proven to provide substantial protection against the malaria parasite.
Malaria remains a pervasive public health challenge, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa, where the majority of malaria-related deaths occur.
