COVID-19 Virtual Concert : I don’t know what you smoked – Ursula Owusu replies Captain Smart.

Minister of Communications Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has sought to suggest that Broadcast Journalist Captain Godsbrain Blessed Smart may have been influenced by something he either smoked or drank for which reason he made those comments about the COVID-19 Virtual Concert.

The Journalist revealed that even though the government stated that it did not pay musicians who performed during the virtual concert to launch the COVID-19 Tracker application, he has evidence that they were paid varying amounts for their performances.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem Fabewoso show, Mr. Smart revealed that even though a Minister of State had stated categorically that the musicians had not been paid for their work, they were paid, warning that it is a curse upon the musicians to receive money for their services and keep mute while the Minister tells the country that they were not paid.

“If you do work for someone and you’re paid for it. But the person goes about saying you did it for free, send the money back to that person because it is a curse to receive money and pretend you didn’t. Why did you perform at the virtual concert and you got paid but the Minister comes out to say you didn’t take any money?” He quizzed.

Mr. Smart then went on to reveal that the musicians were paid different huge sums ranging from GHC 5,000 to GHC 100,000, adding that when footballers get paid huge sums, Ghanaians should not complain.

He went further to curse the lawmaker for Ablekuma West constituency who did not take kindly to such comments and swiftly responded.

“I don’t know what he ate, drank, or smoked but I have not received any money from anyone for this or been given any invoice to pay. There is no nokofio on my watch. Chew on it”, she stated in a post on her Facebook page sighted by MyNewsGh.com.
