GLICO Has Just Paid GH₵ 100,000 To The Late KABA For ….

[dropcap]I[/dropcap]nsurance company, Glico General Insurance, has presented a cheque for the Life Insurance benefits of the late Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong. The company presented the cheque to managers of The Multimedia Group Friday afternoon.

The iconic broadcaster, better known as KABA, died suddenly on Saturday last week.

He hosted the political talk show, Ekosii Sen, on Asempa FM, one of the six radio stations broadcast by The Multimedia Group.

General Manager, Group Business & Business Development at Glico, Stephen Badu presented the cheque for a ¢100,000 to managers of Multimedia. The amount represents KABA’s life insurance benefits. Every staff of the media group is registered on the insurance policy.

Presenting the cheque, Mr. Badu said Glico had been in partnership with The Multimedia Group for the past three years.

Under the policy, he said all staff of the company are provided with a 24-hour coverage for any accidental disability or death.

Mr Badu said when they heard the sad passing of KABA, Glico quickly computed his benefits and thought it proper to come and commiserate with the company where he worked and present the cheque.

Head of Group HR, Nana Elegba, and Chief Operating Officer of Joy FM, Mr Ken Ansah received the cheque.

Nana Elegba said Glico had been a valuable partner and had demonstrated commitment by acting with speed in paying out the late KABA’s benefits.

“I hope that this mutually beneficial partnership will continue into the future,” he said.

Nana Elegba assured staff of The Multimedia Group that the company is concerned about their welfare and therefore enrolled all of them on Glico’s Group Comprehensive Plan. He said even service providers are covered under the policy.

The cheque presented by the insurance company, he said, will be handed over to the next of kin of the late KABA.
