Thursday, November 29 2018, marked the birthday of Ghana’s immediate former president, John Dramani Mahama.

Born in 1958, Mahama attained the special age of 60 years and among his many well-wishers on the day was his son, Sharaf.

To celebrate his dad, Sharaf shared one of the special moments he has had with the former president.

Taking to Instagram, Sharaf posted a photo of himself and his father having fun at a place which is likely to be a resort.

In the photo, the former president could be seen siting on a jet ski with Sharaf standing by another as they posed for the camera.

While Sharaf gave us a two-fingers in the air sign, Mahama was seen giving a thumbs up in the photo.

“Happy Birthday Dad ❤️. May God continue to bless you and guide you and give you what your heart desires! Enjoy your day, See you soon ,” Sharaf captioned the lovely photo.

It is not known where the photo was taken but it surely is a rare father and son moment.

Meanwhile, the Igbinedion University, Okada (IUO), in the Edo State of Nigeria, has conferred an honorary doctorate degree, a Doctor of Letters on Mahama.

The conferment ceremony took place during the 16th Convocation of the university, Nigeria’s first private university founded by Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion of Okada and Esama of Benin.

Established in 1999, the Igbinedion University now has a total of seven colleges and certified to award twenty-nine different degrees and certificates.

In a citation, the university recognised Mr Mahama’s statesmanship and his commitment to the West African sub-region and African continent.

It also recognized Mr. Mahama’s influential role in the ECOWAS sub-region, the Africa Union and the United Nations, noting, especially his role during the deadly Ebola Virus attack in the sub-region.
