[dropcap]S[/dropcap]ocial commentator and editor in chief of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr is lamenting over the naming of president Akufo-Addo as the father of Ghana.

Most Ghanaians continue to attach a fatherly role to presidents with Nana Addo currently named as the “father for all” upon his victory in the 2016 elections.

This accolade, according to the political commentator is out of reason. According to him, the 1992 Constitution states categorically that presidents are elected and impeached.

According to him, Nana Addo, as a father can not have his children vote for him on election day. He also argues that should there be a case of impeachment, there is no way a “father could be sacked from office by his children”.

“Nana Addo is not our father, we voted him to work as an employee. If he does not perform, we sack him after 4 years. This is what the Constitution says,” Kwesi Pratt Jnr argued on Radio Gold’s Alhaji and Alhaji program.

Commenting on the partisan comments recently made by the High Commissioner to South Africa, Kwesi Pratt argues that government is likely to lose the 2020 elections should it fail in dealing with the deep cracks of partisanship in the country.
