NDC has sent an assassin to kill me – Allotey Jacobs

NDC has sent an assassin to kill me: The former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs, is accusing the party of hiring assassins to take his life.

According to the dismissed NDC member, he has reliable information about the plot but he has faith in God to protect him.

He is therefore urging Ghanaians to look no further than point fingers at the NDC party if he dies through suspected foul means.

Jacobs in the past weeks has been at the crossroads with the NDC over his decision to tout the achievements of the Akufo-Addo-led administration.

The party responded finally by dismissing him from the party even though Jacobs had said weeks earlier that he had left the Umbrella Family.

“Just about an hour ago, I heard from a reliable source the NDC has brought attackers to come and kill me. They have sent assassins after Andy Kankam and I. So as I am speaking now, I am speaking from a coded location,” he told Accra-based Happy FM.

“I was just about entering Cape Coast when the information came in so I had to divert my course.”

His dismissal from the party

The NDC expelled Mr. Allotey Jacobs two weeks ago for “indiscipline”, a letter addressed to him and signed by the party’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia said.

“At our meeting on Wednesday 17 March, the Functional Executive Committee of the NDC considered the report and recommendations of the Disciplinary Committee on the case of misconduct and anti-party behaviour brought against you Mr Allotey Jacobs pursuant to article 48(i) (b) and 8 (b) of the NDC Constitution.

“The Committee’s report which is herein attached for your attention, found you guilty of the said allegations of misconduct, anti-party conduct and recommended among other things your immediate expulsion from the party,” the Tuesday 23 March 2021 letter signed by General Secretary Asiedu Nketiah said.

It added: “The Functional Executive Committee… has unanimously adopted the report and accepts fully its recommendation for your expulsion from the party.

“You are therefore by the decision of FEC been expelled from the National Democratic Congress and for that matter no more recognised as a member of the party and cannot carry yourself as such.”
