Pollster Ben Ephson has tested positive for COVID-19

Pollster Ben Ephson has tested positive: Ghanaian Journalist and Editor of the Daily Dispatch newspaper, Emmanuel Ben Ephson, has been tested positive for COVID-19 but is responding well to treatment and following medications administered by health officials.

JoyNews sources indicate that the pollster is currently under observation at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) in Accra.

According to the source, “he is taking his medications. He is strong and he doesn’t feel too sick and the medics are taking care of him,” the source further added.

“So it’s not like a very critical situation even though he has underlying conditions, he is very upbeat and in high spirit” and looking forward to a speedy recovery.

Akufo-Addo under self-isolation after getting exposed to COVID-19

Akufo-Addo under self-isolation: President Nana Akufo-Addo will self-isolate for 14 days on the advice of doctors after a person in his close circle tested positive for coronavirus, the government said in a statement late on Saturday.

“He has, as at today, tested negative, but has elected to take this measure out of the abundance of caution,” the statement said, adding that the president will continue to work during the period, in compliance with COVID-19 safety protocols.

A number of government appointees and members of the president’s New Patriotic Party (NPP) have so far tested positive for COVID-19.
