How to link your TIN with your Ghana Card
The government of Ghana announced that starting April 1, 2021, all existing Tax Identification numbers (TIN) issued by the Ghana Revenue Authority GRA will be replaced with the Ghana Card ID numbers.
This means henceforth, all GRA transactions, business registration, bank account registration, and any government transaction will have a Ghana Card ID number used in place of TIN.
This directive is due to the fact that the government wants to expand the public tax net and also help in realigning its revenue mobilization tactics.
To link your TIN to your Ghana Card, follow these three steps:
STEP 1:
Go to https://myid.gra.gov.gh. Enter your TIN received from GRA, and click continue to proceed to the next step.
STEP 2:
Input your Ghana card personal ID (use the screenshot below to locate yours). Enter your Surname, Fore/First name, and date of birth just as they appear on the Card. Click Continue to go to the next step.
STEP 3.
Fill in your valid email address and mobile phone number. Click on ‘SEND OTP’ to receive a 6-digit OTP code in your email inbox (check spam/junk folder if not in inbox). Enter the code and click Link TIN button.
Congratulations your match has been submitted to GRA for review.
This is the final step you will see once your link request has successfully been submitted.
