How to merge your Ghana Card Number with your SSNIT number

The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) starting from 28th June 2021 has adopted the Ghana Card Number to replace the existing SSNIT numbers.

This is in respect of the move by the government to make Ghana Card a single card to access all services in the country. Already, Ghana card numbers have replaced citizens’ Taxa Identification Numbers.

This new development implies that the Ghana card number will be used for all transactions at SSNIT going forward. Those who added their SSNIT numbers to their registration details automatically have their old SSNIT numbers replaced with their Ghana card numbers.

Simply access your SSNIT eStatement at: https://www.ssnit.org.gh/member/auth/sign-in to see your merged Ghana Card number.

If you don’t see your Ghana Card number at your eStatement page, follow the following steps to manually merge your Ghana Card number with your SSNIT account.

To manually merge you number, you need to have your Ghana card, SSNIT number, valid email address, and a valid phone number.

Now follow these steps to complete the merging;

  1. Dial *711*9#
  2. Select option 1 (merge NIA number with SSNIT number)
  3. Enter your SSNIT number and press send
  4. Enter your email address (if the phone number you used to register your SSNIT account is different from the current number you are using)
  5. Enter you Ghana Card Number (PIN on your Ghana Card)
  6. Select Option 1 to complete the merger

Note that the manual merging is for those who could not add their SSNIT number to their registration details when they were registering for the Ghana Card. If you provided your SSNIT number, your Ghana card has automatically been merged with your SSNIT account.
