Punish Lockdown Offenders To Serve As Deterrent To Others – NDC’s Allotey Jacobs

Punish Lockdown Offenders: Former Central Regional Chairman of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs, has called on Ghana Police Service and the Military to arrest and prosecute anyone who violates the lockdown restrictions by the President.

The lockdown restrictions by the government are to control the spread of the coronavirus epidemic.

He appealed to the public to be patient and continue to support the government, remain vigilant and adhere to the measures introduced to deal with the problem.

“Let each one of us play his or her part to enhance our collective efforts at containing the spread of the virus, which will enable us to hasten the lifting of these restrictions, and returning the nation to normalcy,” Allotey Jacobs told Kwaku Dawuro on ‘Pae Mu Ka’ on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7

Allotey Jacobs advised Ghanaians to adhere to the restriction guidelines by staying home in order to avoid the sanctions the law provides.

Security personnel have been briefed to apply democratic principles and to exhibit a high level of professionalism.

Enforcement of Restrictions Imposed on Accra, Tema, Kasoa and Kumasi Roadblocks for inter-city access.

Ghana has currently recorded 378 cases with 6 deaths as of April 9, 2020. This is almost a month after the first two cases were recorded.
