Susan Sarandon to receive Rome festival honour at ‘The Accompanist’ premiere

Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon is set to appear in Rome for the international premiere of “The Accompanist” and to receive the Womenland Award at the Alice nella Città festival programme.

Italian news agency ANSA reported that Sarandon will attend the October 13 event connected to the Rome film festival’s Alice nella Città section. The occasion will also feature the international premiere of “The Accompanist”, the feature directorial debut of actor and filmmaker Zach Woods.

The film marks a return to a leading role for Sarandon, who has maintained a long career across cinema and television. Her appearance in Rome is expected to add a major international name to the festival programme.

The Womenland Award is being presented as a recognition connected to Sarandon’s career and continuing work in film.
