Peter Okoye tells court he received more than $800,000 in P-Square royalties

Nigerian singer Peter Okoye has told a Federal High Court in Lagos that he received more than $800,000 in royalties from France-based music rights organisation SACEM for songs recorded by P-Square.

Peter said the money belonged to him and his twin brother Paul Okoye, and disputed his elder brother Jude Okoye’s entitlement to the payments. He also told the court that he and Paul wrote, composed and produced P-Square’s songs, while Jude directed some music videos.

The testimony formed part of the ongoing case involving Jude Okoye and Northside Music Limited. Jude has pleaded not guilty to the fraud charges brought against him by the EFCC.

The court adjourned further hearing to December 8 and 9, 2026.
