Nigeria’s Code of Conduct Bureau says it has investigated and verified the assets of more than 20 ministers and 30 permanent secretaries. The exercise forms part of the bureau’s mandate to examine asset declarations by public officials and support accountability requirements. The disclosure comes as scrutiny of public office holders’ asset declarations remains a significant issue in Nigeria’s governance debate.
