Phyna and Nkechi Blessing set for celebrity boxing bout in Lagos

Nigerian reality television star Josephina Otabor, known as Phyna, and actress Nkechi Blessing are preparing for a celebrity boxing contest scheduled for October 1 in Lagos.

The bout, billed as “Phyna vs Nkechi”, is scheduled to take place at the Federal Palace Hotel as part of the “Chaos in the Ring” series organised by Balmoral Group Promotions.

According to TVC News, the event will be broadcast live on DAZN and SuperSport. Promotional material has already shown the two entertainers in boxing gear as preparations continue.

The contest is notable within the franchise because it is expected to be the first time two female celebrities headline a boxing event under “Chaos in the Ring”. Previous editions have featured entertainers including Portable, Charles Okocha, Speed Darlington and Carter Efe.

Organisers had not yet announced the full undercard and ticketing details in the latest reports.

The event adds a new crossover between Nigeria’s entertainment and celebrity-sport scenes ahead of October’s scheduled showdown.
