Ghana Bar Association raises concern over attempted arrest of lawyer at court

The Ghana Bar Association has raised concerns about an attempted arrest of lawyer and Manhyia South MP Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah at the Accra High Court Complex while he was representing a client.

In a statement, the GBA said enforcement actions involving lawyers performing professional duties should comply with constitutional and legal procedures and respect professional independence.

The association called on relevant state institutions to uphold due process and the rights of all persons involved while protecting the independence of the legal profession.
