Reggie Zippy speaks after court hearing, says case has taken an emotional toll

UK-based Ghanaian musician Reggie Zippy has spoken about the emotional strain of an ongoing criminal case following his latest court appearance.

Reggie said the matter was adjourned to a later date in October and that no plea was entered because the case was not heard at the latest appearance. He faces the possibility of imprisonment if convicted over the matter.

In a video shared after the hearing, the musician described the experience as one of the most difficult periods he has faced in the legal process. He said he became overwhelmed and at one point told his lawyer he was prepared to accept imprisonment if it would bring the situation to an end.

According to Reggie, his lawyer encouraged him not to give up and reminded him that he had arguments to present in the case. He also spoke about the impact of the prolonged situation on his family.

Reggie said he intends to allow the legal process to continue and has appealed to people following the case not to target individuals connected to it.
