Ghanaian musician TNT, known for ‘Odo Wo Din Ye Me De’, dies after illness

Ghanaian musician TNT, best known for the old-school song Odo Wo Din Ye Me De, has died after an illness, prompting tributes from listeners familiar with his music.

Reports indicate that TNT died on September 20, 2026, after battling an undisclosed illness for more than three months. His niece Elizabeth said he had been staying with his mother in Adeiso while unwell before his condition worsened.

According to the account reported by Pulse Ghana, TNT was taken to hospital after his condition deteriorated. He died shortly afterwards.

TNT was recognised for composing Odo Wo Din Ye Me De, a song featuring his niece Elizabeth and his close friend Bentoa. The track has remained familiar to many Ghanaian listeners despite TNT spending much of his career away from the mainstream spotlight.

News of his death has renewed interest in the song and in the contribution he made to Ghana’s older popular music catalogue.
