Ghana to establish space institution with Japanese support

Ghana is preparing to establish its first dedicated space institution with support from Japan, Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has announced.

Ablakwa said a policy proposal would be presented to Cabinet and noted that Ghana and Japan had already signed strategic memoranda of understanding at governmental and institutional levels.

The announcement followed a visit involving Japanese astronaut and Axiom Space executive Koichi Wakata, with officials highlighting opportunities for cooperation in science, technology and aerospace research.
