Vice-President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia will, today, Tuesday, 11 February 2020, address the first government town hall meeting for this year in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region to update Ghanaians on the fulfillment of the government’s promises and commitments made in the lead-up to the 2016 elections ahead of the 2020 general elections.

In its 2016 manifesto, the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) made 388 promises.

President Nana Akufo-Addo, last year, tasked the Office of the Vice-President to lead a team to produce empirical data on the status of the 388 promises the party made in the lead-up to the last general elections.

The minister disclosed that evidence of the work done will also be displayed at a Results Fair Exhibition that would be led by the Ministry of Monitoring and Evaluation similar to the one that took place in Accra a few weeks ago.

“Dr. Bawumia’s presentation will set the tone, as a public accounting mechanism, for the work done by the Akufo-Addo administration with reference to its 388 manifesto promises and commitments”, Mr Oppong Nkrumah told journalists.

Guests have been invited from academia, civil society, political parties, and the general public.

Mr. Nkrumah encouraged the media to take a keen interest in the data that would be presented by the Vice-President.
