On Wednesday, February 12, 2020, National Democratic Congress Deputy National Organizer, Chief Hamilton Biney and New Patriotic Party’s Alberta Afia Akoto would walk down the aisle as man and wife.

The news of the impending marriage has sent a lot of comments and discussions going on social media since NPP and NDC are noted for clashing and not marrying one another.

The venue of the wedding is yet to be disclosed but it is sure going to be a plush one.

It is expected that top party members of both the NPP and NDC would be in attendance and a lot of cash and gifts would be presented to the new couple.

Maame Afia Akoto is also Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the MASLOC under the Akufo-Addo government. She was appointed in 2017 to the position.

Prior to her appointment, she was a vital part of NPP’s communications team. She is also an alumna of Aburi Girls Senior High School.

This is not the first time a family would be ‘divided’ by politics despite sharing very close ties.

Abu Jinapor and John Jinapor are blood brothers but belong to NPP and NDC respectively.

Ghana’s Second Lady, Samira Bawumia is also believed to be related to Abu Ramadan who was a PNC executive.
