Ghana transport unions defer proposed 8% fare increase

Transport unions at major terminals in Accra have deferred implementation of a proposed eight per cent increase in commercial transport fares. The Ghana News Agency reported that some operators were awaiting official communication from national leadership, while others called for a review. Drivers cited rising fuel, maintenance, spare-parts and other operating costs. Implementation remained unsettled at the time of the latest report.
