This Woman Wore Makeup Daily for 22 Years. Here’s How Her Husband Reacted when She Stopped Doing it

This Woman Wore Makeup Daily for 22 Years. Here’s How Her Husband Reacted when She Stopped Doing it; Whether going to church, school, work, job interviews or any other place you can think of, makeup has become an integral part of us.

A dash of lipstick, a touch of mascara is a basic makeup routine. And, when there is time at hand and a special occasion on the calendar, we tend to spend an extra hour to put that makeup on our face. But howsoever a woman might be a of makeup, doing it daily and not of your own will, it can be a daunting task. While, the choice of putting on makeup is solely a personal choice, it becomes a talk for people around us.

That is what this woman, married for the last 22 years, has been facing of late. Barring days of sickness and camping trips, this woman has had to rise every day, take a shower, shower her legs and then spends an hour to put on that makeup and do her hair. And after all these years, the fatigue has kicked in and she feels she cannot do it anymore.

“I’m tired of it, so I recently stopped doing it on Sundays. Mind you, I don’t look like a total slob, I just put on moisturizer, put my hair up in a pony tail and wear track suits or other casual clothing,” she wrote while narrating her ordeal in Slate.com’s Dear Prudence advice column. But her husband isn’t liking her “grooming-free Sundays”.

“I still think I look better than half the women I encounter out and about in public, but my husband is having a fit about my grooming-free Sundays,” she says.

Her husband thinks that her new routine of not doing makeup on Sundays will be the beginning of a “downward spiral” for her and she will end up being a “messy, slobby woman”.

To him, his wife’s new look is nothing like ‘sexy”. “He points out that he still showers every day (true—and it takes him 15 minutes from start to finish) and that, while he doesn’t shave on weekends, I’ve told him that his stubble is sexy (it is) but he finds nothing sexy about my new look,” she writes.

Though not completely disenchanted with her makeup routine, she feels this is a wastage of time when she does nothing beyond some yard work or going to the grocery store. Now, she feels her husband is being ‘ridiculous’ with his nagging and insistence of following the makeup routine without a fail. “His nagging about it is really getting on my nerves” He says it’s not fair of me to change things in the middle of the game like this. I say it’s not fair of him to expect me to tart myself all up every. single. day. Who is right here?

I think what this man did is the craziest I’ve heard so far.

Tom Peters is a 32 year old  handsome man who has lived his life for the past years as a dog. He used to walk on all four limbs, sleep in a cage and eat dog biscuits out of a bowl. This is very surprising but he just liked being treated like a puppy.

According to Tom, he feels like he’s a dog and he just wants to be seen and treated as such.  As a result of his desire to become a real dog, Tom Peters, young and handsome as he was spent millions of dollars on plastic surgery procedures and spent so many months in the surgeon simulator just so that he could look like and resemble a real life dog, without any doubt.

It was reported that the young man even sold most of his properties worth millions of dollars in his quest of becoming a real dog.

He used the money to pay for his plastic surgery and he doesn’t regret it at all as he is very much content with the results he got. The doctors changed his physique and body into that of a dog.

Tom Peters is a British and works as a theater technician. He has a fiancee who is not bothered about him being a dog.

Never throw away your watermelon seeds, This is why.

Never throw away your watermelon seeds, This is why; Native to the African continent, watermelon is a large juicy berry that is usually grown from April to June. It is an ideal fruit to keep people hydrated in summer as it contains above 90 per cent water. The black seeds of the fruit are also consumed as roasted snacks or used as flour. Watermelon seeds provide several health benefits; some of which have been mentioned below:

Here are some Health Benefits of Watermelon Seeds

  • Provides essential nutrients

Watermelon seeds are nutrient rich.  They contain the proteins globulin and albumin, which collectively aids our immune system, helps fight infections and maintains the fluid levels in our bloodstream. The seeds also contain minerals like magnesium, iron and zinc, which are essential for our metabolic functions as well as vitamin C, B complex and amino acids.

  • Protects the heart

High levels of LDL-cholesterol cause a rise in fat deposits in our arteries and raise the risk of arterial blockage and heart attacks. Watermelon seeds contain monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids which reduce LDL-cholesterol or “bad” cholesterol levels in the bloodstream.

  • Lowers blood pressure

Those suffering from high blood pressure levels should consume watermelon seeds. They contain magnesium, which helps lower high blood pressure and even helps make the antihypertensive drugs more effective.

  • Controls diabetes

Watermelon seeds are also said to be good for patients who suffer from elevated blood sugar levels. Studies suggest that the presence of magnesium in watermelon seeds helps manage insulin sensitivity and reduce blood sugar levels.

  • Heals wounds

Watermelon seed contains a high concentration of the amino acid L-arginine. As per research, L-arginine increases nitric oxide levels, which in turn helps heal wounds faster.

  • Maintains skin and hair integrity

Watermelon seeds contain antioxidants that protect our skin by preventing oxidative damage from free radicals, which causes ageing. Magnesium and zinc present in the seeds are also said to strengthen hair.

  • Benefits to men

They are considered a good source of iron, magnesium and zinc. What’s most interesting about the nutrition in watermelon seeds when it comes to men’s health is that these are three key nutrients for sexual health. A deficiency in iron can cause fatigue. Magnesium is involved in sex hormone production. And zinc is sometimes called the “man’s mineral,” because it is essential for prostate and sperm health. Who knew watermelon seeds were so healthy?

Studies Say Prolonged Sitting Is As bad As Smoking A Cigarette Pack Daily

Studies Say Prolonged Sitting Is As bad As Smoking A Cigarette Pack Daily

Studies Say Prolonged Sitting Is As bad As Smoking A Cigarette Pack Daily

Prolonged sitting leads to several health concerns like obesity, high blood sugar, excess body fat around the waist, and abnormal cholesterol levels.

Did you know, sitting for long hours at a stretch can give you high blood pressure and increase the risk of death from cardiovascular disease and cancer? In fact, any extended sitting such as at a desk, behind a wheel, or in front of a screen can be harmful.

When we sit, we use less energy as compared to standing or moving. Research has linked sitting for long periods of time with several health concerns. They include obesity and a cluster of conditions — high blood sugar, excess body fat around the waist, and abnormal cholesterol levels. Prolonged periods of sitting also seem to increase the risk of death from cardiovascular disease and Cancer.

Several studies done to understand the link between sitting time and health risk factors found that those who sat for more than eight hours a day with no physical activity, faced similar risks of dying as posed by obesity or smoking. Therefore, living a sedentary lifestyle can be dangerous to your health. The less sitting or lying down you do during the day, the better your chances for living a healthy life. We know that due to the pandemic, most people are confined to their homes and work-from-home has added up to more working hours, leading to long sitting hours in front of the screens. But the health impact it has is manifold.

How long sitting hours affect your body:

Humans are built to stand upright. Our heart and cardiovascular system work more effectively that way. Our bowel function is also more efficient when we are upright. It is common for people who are bedridden in the hospital to experience problems with their bowel function, isn’t it? Similarly, sitting for long or being inactive for prolonged hours can be very harmful to your health.

  • Leg and gluteals (bum muscles): Sitting for long periods can lead to weakening and wasting away of the large leg and gluteal muscles. These large muscles are important for walking and for stabilizing us. If these muscles are weak, we are more likely to get injured from falls, and from exercises.

  • Metabolic problems leading to heart diseases and stroke: Moving the muscles helps our body digest the fats and sugars we eat. If we spend a lot of time sitting, digestion is not as efficient, so the body will retain those fats and sugars.

  • Hip and joint problems: Sitting causes our hip flexor muscles to shorten, which can lead to problems with hip joints. Sitting for long periods can also cause problems with the back, especially if one consistently sits with poor posture or doesn’t use an ergonomically designed chair or workstation. Even if you exercise but end up spending a large amount of time sitting, you are still at risk of health problems such as Metabolic Syndrome.

  • Cancer: Emerging studies suggest that the dangers of sitting include increasing your chances of developing some types of Cancer, including lung, uterine, and colon cancers.

How to stay active and healthy during work time:

Prolonged sitting as bad as smoking a daily cigarette pack a day. When you are active your levels and endurance improves, and your bones maintain strength. You might start by simply standing rather than sitting when you have the chance, or finding ways to walk while you work.

  1. Every 30 minutes, take a break from sitting
  2. Stand while talking on the phone or while watching television
  3. If you work at a desk, try a standing desk — or improvise with a high table or counter
  4. Position your work surface above a treadmill — with a computer screen and keyboard on a stand or a specialized treadmill-ready vertical desk, so that you can be in motion throughout the day

The impact of movement, even leisurely movement, can be profound. For starters, you will burn more calories. This might lead to weight loss and increased energy levels. Also, physical activity helps maintain muscle tone and leads us to overall mental well-being.
