Where are those loud-mouth critics – Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang questions
The former vice-presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2020 elections, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has raised concerns about the perceived silence of once vocal critics during past administrations led by the NDC.
Addressing attendees at the launch of the NDC’s “Voice Out, Vote Out” campaign, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang questioned the absence of previously outspoken individuals in the current government led by the New Patriotic Party (NPP). She emphasized the importance of Ghanaians avoiding hypocrisy and actively speaking out against governance issues consistently.
Calling for Ghana to be free from intimidation, fear, anger, and hypocrisy, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang urged citizens to voice their concerns regarding bad governance. She noted the disappearance of voices that were once critical of the NDC during their time in power.
During the campaign launch, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang underscored the necessity for unity among party members, especially the youth, in voicing their concerns and actively participating in shaping the country’s future.
Emphasizing the crucial role of engaging party structures and collaborating with branch executives, she advocated for effective propagation of the “Voice Out, Vote Out” message.
The former running mate highlighted the youth’s significant role in shaping Ghana’s destiny and encouraged them to leverage platforms like social media to amplify their voices on national issues. Prof. Opoku-Agyemang urged the youth not only to speak out but also to actively participate in the electoral process as a means of combating bad governance.
The “Voice Out, Vote Out” (VOVO) Initiative stands as a call to collective action and grassroots involvement within the NDC, signaling the party’s determination to secure victory over the NPP in the upcoming December 2024 general election.
